Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,

⁶ Neither did they say, ‘Where is the Lord,
Who ^(A)brought us up out of the land of Egypt,
Who led us through ^(B)the wilderness,
Through a land of deserts and pits,
Through a land of drought and the shadow of death,
Through a land that no one crossed
And where no one dwelt?’

^7 (A)You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with ^(B)songs of deliverance. Selah

^(B)And my law as the apple of your eye.

¹⁹ Yet in Your ^(A)manifold mercies
You did not forsake them in the wilderness.
The ^(B)pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day,
To lead them on the road;
Nor the pillar of fire by night,
To show them light,
And the way they should go.
²⁰ You also gave Your ^(C)good Spirit to instruct them,
And did not withhold Your ^(D)manna from their mouth,
And gave them ^(E)water for their thirst.
^21 (F)Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness;
They lacked nothing;
Their ^(G)clothes did not wear out
And their feet did not swell.
