⁶ “Moreover, the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live.^(A)

²⁶ A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you, and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.^{(A) 27} I will put my spirit within you and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.^(B)

¹⁶ Circumcise, then, the foreskin of your heart, and do not be stubborn any longer.^(A)

¹⁹ I will give them one heart and put a new spirit within them;^[a] I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,^{(A) 20} so that they may follow my statutes and keep my ordinances and obey them. Then they shall be my people, and I will be their God.^(B)

³⁹ I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for all time, for their own good and the good of their children after them.^(A)

²⁸ For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision something external and physical.^{(A) 29} Rather, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not the written code. Such a person receives praise not from humans but from God.^(B)

¹¹ In him also you were circumcised with a spiritual circumcision,^[a] by the removal of the body^[b] of the flesh in the circumcision of Christ;^(A)

³ For the love of God is this, that we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome,^{(A) 4} for whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith.^(B)

⁵ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.^(A)
