²⁵ Let me go over and see the good land^(A) beyond the Jordan—that fine hill country and Lebanon.^(B)”

²¹ The Lord was angry with me^(A) because of you, and he solemnly swore that I would not cross the Jordan and enter the good land the Lord your God is giving you as your inheritance. ²² I will die in this land;^(B) I will not cross the Jordan; but you are about to cross over and take possession of that good land.^(C)

⁶ On that day I swore^(A) to them that I would bring them out of Egypt into a land I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey,^(B) the most beautiful of all lands.^(C)

¹¹ But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys^(A) that drinks rain from heaven.^{(B) 12} It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes^(C) of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.

⁸ So I have come down^(A) to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land,^(B) a land flowing with milk and honey^(C)—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites^(D) and Jebusites.^(E)

⁵ If we have found favor in your eyes,” they said, “let this land be given to your servants as our possession. Do not make us cross the Jordan.^(A)”
