¹⁵ who are standing here with us today in the presence of the Lord our God but also with those who are not here today.^(A)

³⁹ The promise is for you and your children^(A) and for all who are far off^(B)—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.^(A)

³⁹ I will give them singleness^(A) of heart and action, so that they will always fear^(B) me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them.

³ It was not with our ancestors^[a] that the Lord made this covenant, but with us,^(A) with all of us who are alive here today.^(B)
