¹² You are standing here in order to enter into a covenant with the Lord your God, a covenant the Lord is making with you this day and sealing with an oath,

¹² They entered into a covenant^(A) to seek the Lord,^(B) the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul. ¹³ All who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, were to be put to death,^(C) whether small or great, man or woman. ¹⁴ They took an oath to the Lord with loud acclamation, with shouting and with trumpets and horns. ¹⁵ All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God^(D) eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest^(E) on every side.

¹⁷ Jehoiada then made a covenant^(A) between the Lord and the king and people that they would be the Lord’s people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people.^(B)

²⁵ On that day Joshua made a covenant^(A) for the people, and there at Shechem^(B) he reaffirmed for them decrees and laws.^(C)

¹⁴ I am making this covenant,^(A) with its oath, not only with you

² The Lord our God made a covenant^(A) with us at Horeb.^{(B) 3} It was not with our ancestors^[a] that the Lord made this covenant, but with us,^(C) with all of us who are alive here today.^(D)

⁵ Now if you obey me fully^(A) and keep my covenant,^(B) then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.^(C) Although the whole earth^(D) is mine, ⁶ you^[a] will be for me a kingdom of priests^(E) and a holy nation.’^(F) These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”
