⁴⁶ And they shall be upon ^(A)you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever.

^8 (A)I will set My face against that man and make him a ^(B)sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of My people. ^(C)Then you shall know that I am the Lord.

³⁷ And you shall become ^(A)an^[a] astonishment, a proverb, ^(B)and a byword among all nations where the Lord will drive you.

¹¹ Now ^[a]all these things happened to them as examples, and ^(A)they were written for our ^[b]admonition, ^(B)upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

²⁰ When they came to the nations, wherever they went, they ^(A)profaned My holy name—when they said of them, ‘These are the people of the Lord, and yet they have gone out of His land.’

³² “Thus says the Lord God:

¹⁸ Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its princes, to make them ^(A)a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and ^(B)a curse, as it is this day;

⁸ I will make this city ^(A)desolate and a hissing; everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss because of all its plagues.
