⁴⁵ “Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you ^[a]did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you.

Curses on Disobedience^(A)

¹⁵ “But it shall come to pass, ^(B)if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

²¹ For thus says the Lord God: “How much more it shall be when ^(A)I send My four ^[a]severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword and famine and wild beasts and pestilence—to cut off man and beast from it?

⁹ I will deliver them to ^(A)trouble into all the kingdoms of the earth, for their harm, ^(B)to be a reproach and a byword, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them. ¹⁰ And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence among them, till they are ^[a]consumed from the land that I gave to them and their fathers.’ ”

^22 (A)For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices. ²³ But this is what I commanded them, saying, ^(B)‘Obey My voice, and ^(C)I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’ ^24 (D)Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but ^(E)followed^[a] the counsels and the ^[b]dictates of their evil hearts, and ^(F)went^[c] backward and not forward. ²⁵ Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even ^(G)sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.
