^22 (A)“If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then both of them shall die—the man that lay with the woman, and the woman; so you shall put away the evil from Israel.

^10 (A)‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death.

^4 (A)Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; ^(B)but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

⁴ they said to Him, “Teacher, ^[a]this woman was caught in ^(A)adultery, in the very act. ^5 (B)Now ^[b]Moses, in the law, commanded us ^[c]that such should be stoned. But what do You ^[d]say?”

⁴⁵ But righteous men will ^(A)judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and ^(B)blood is on their hands.

⁴⁶ “For thus says the Lord God: ^(C)‘Bring up an assembly against them, give them up to trouble and plunder. ^47 (D)The assembly shall stone them with stones and ^[a]execute them with their swords; ^(E)they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn their houses with fire.

³⁸ And I will judge you as ^(A)women who break wedlock or ^(B)shed blood are judged; I will bring blood upon you in fury and jealousy.

²² and may this water that causes the curse ^(A)go into your stomach, and make your belly swell and your thigh rot.”

‘^(B)Then the woman shall say, “Amen, so be it.”

²³ ‘Then the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall scrape them off into the bitter water. ²⁴ And he shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and the water that brings the curse shall enter her to become bitter. ^25 (C)Then the priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy from the woman’s hand, shall ^(D)wave the offering before the Lord, and bring it to the altar; ²⁶ and the priest shall take a handful of the offering, ^(E)as its memorial portion, burn it on the altar, and afterward make the woman drink the water. ²⁷ When he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if she has defiled herself and behaved unfaithfully toward her husband, that the water that brings a ^(F)curse will enter her and become bitter, and her belly will swell, her thigh will rot, and the woman ^(G)will become a curse among her people.
