¹¹ and you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and desire her and would take her for your ^(A)wife,

The Virtuous Wife

² So he went up and told his father and mother, saying, “I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, ^(A)get her for me as a wife.”

³ Then his father and mother said to him, “Is there no woman among the daughters of ^(B)your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the ^(C)uncircumcised Philistines?”

And Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for ^[a]she pleases me well.”

¹⁸ But keep alive ^(A)for yourselves all the young girls who have not known a man intimately.

⁸ But Hamor spoke with them, saying, “The soul of my son Shechem longs for your daughter. Please give her to him as a wife.

³ His soul ^[a]was strongly attracted to Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the young woman and spoke ^[b]kindly to the young woman.

¹⁸ Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, ^(A)“I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.”

¹⁹ And Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.” ²⁰ So Jacob ^(B)served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her.

¹⁴ So it was, when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful. ¹⁵ The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house.
