¹⁴ But the women, the little ones, ^(A)the livestock, and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you shall plunder for yourself; and ^(B)you shall eat the enemies’ plunder which the Lord your God gives you.

² And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to ^(A)Jericho and its king. Only ^(B)its spoil and its cattle you shall take as booty for yourselves. Lay an ambush for the city behind it.”

⁸ and spoke to them, saying, “Return with much riches to your tents, with very much livestock, with silver, with gold, with bronze, with iron, and with very much clothing. ^(A)Divide the ^[a]spoil of your enemies with your brethren.”

⁹ And the children of Israel took the women of Midian captive, with their little ones, and took as spoil all their cattle, all their flocks, and all their goods.

^37 (A)Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

²⁵ When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the ^[a]dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.

¹³ And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to ^(A)Gerar. So the Ethiopians were overthrown, and they could not recover, for they were broken before the Lord and His army. And they carried away very much ^[a]spoil. ¹⁴ Then they defeated all the cities around Gerar, for ^(B)the fear of the Lord came upon them; and they plundered all the cities, for there was exceedingly much ^[b]spoil in them. ¹⁵ They also ^[c]attacked the livestock enclosures, and carried off sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.

¹⁴ And all the ^(A)spoil of these cities and the livestock, the children of Israel took as booty for themselves; but they struck every man with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them, and they left none breathing.

³⁵ and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of women who had not known a man intimately. ³⁶ And the half, the portion for those who had gone out to war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep; ³⁷ and the Lord’s ^[a]tribute of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five. ³⁸ The cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which the Lord’s tribute was seventy-two. ³⁹ The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which the Lord’s tribute was sixty-one. ⁴⁰ The persons were sixteen thousand, of which the Lord’s tribute was thirty-two persons. ⁴¹ So Moses gave the tribute which was the Lord’s heave offering to Eleazar the priest, ^(A)as the Lord commanded Moses.
