^27 (A)‘Let me pass through your land. I will go only by the road; I will turn aside neither to the right nor to the left.

^19 (A)Israel then sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, king of Heshbon, and Israel said to him, ‘Please let us pass through your land to our country,’

King Sihon Defeated

We will go by the King's Highway until we have passed through your territory.” ^23 (C)But Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his territory. He gathered all his people together and went out against Israel to the wilderness and ^(D)came to Jahaz and fought against Israel.
