^4 (A)The firstfruits of your grain and your new wine and your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.

¹⁷ You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are ^(A)the firstfruits to the Lord.

¹⁰ “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ^(A)‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of ^(B)the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.

^19 (A)The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God. ^(B)You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.

²⁹ “You shall not delay to offer ^(A)the first of your ripe produce and your juices. ^(B)The firstborn of your sons you shall give to Me.

Temple Responsibilities

^44 (A)And at the same time some were appointed over the rooms of the storehouse for the offerings, the firstfruits, and the ^(B)tithes, to gather into them from the fields of the cities the portions specified by the Law for the priests and Levites; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who ^[a]ministered. ⁴⁵ Both the singers and the gatekeepers kept the charge of their God and the charge of the purification, ^(C)according to the command of David and Solomon his son. ⁴⁶ For in the days of David ^(D)and Asaph of old there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. ⁴⁷ In the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah all Israel gave the portions for the singers and the gatekeepers, a portion for ^(E)each day. ^(F)They also ^[b]consecrated holy things for the Levites, ^(G)and the Levites consecrated them for the children of Aaron.

⁴ Moreover he commanded the people who dwelt in Jerusalem to contribute ^(A)support^[a] for the priests and the Levites, that they might devote themselves to ^(B)the Law of the Lord.

⁵ As soon as the commandment was circulated, the children of Israel brought in abundance ^(C)the firstfruits of grain and wine, oil and honey, and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly the ^(D)tithe of everything. ⁶ And the children of Israel and Judah, who dwelt in the cities of Judah, brought the tithe of oxen and sheep; also the ^(E)tithe of holy things which were consecrated to the Lord their God they laid in heaps.

⁷ In the third month they began laying them in heaps, and they finished in the seventh month. ⁸ And when Hezekiah and the leaders came and saw the heaps, they blessed the Lord and His people Israel. ⁹ Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. ¹⁰ And Azariah the chief priest, from the ^(F)house of Zadok, answered him and said, ^(G)“Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat and have plenty left, for the Lord has blessed His people; and what is left is this great ^(H)abundance.”

⁹ He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, ^(A)“a land flowing with milk and honey”; ¹⁰ and now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which you, O Lord, have given me.’

“Then you shall set it before the Lord your God, and worship before the Lord your God.
