¹⁴ For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not ^[a]appointed such for you.

^16 (A)who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways.

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter ^(A)pass^[a] through the fire, ^(B)or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,

⁶ And God said to him in a dream, “Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For ^(A)I also withheld you from sinning ^(B)against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.
