17 ^(A)“You shall not sacrifice to the Lord your God an ox or a sheep in which is a blemish, any defect whatever, for that is an abomination to the Lord your God.

^21 (A)But if it has any blemish, if it is lame or blind or has any serious blemish whatever, you shall not sacrifice it to the Lord your God.

^8 (A)When you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the Lord of hosts.

¹⁸ You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the wages of a dog^[a] into the house of the Lord your God in payment for any vow, for both of these are an abomination to the Lord your God.

⁴ then ^(A)her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after she has been defiled, for that is an abomination before the Lord. And you shall not bring sin upon the land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance.

^20 (A)You shall not offer anything that has a blemish, for it will not be acceptable for you. ²¹ And when anyone ^(B)offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord ^(C)to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from the herd or from the flock, to be accepted it must be perfect; there shall be no blemish in it. ²² Animals ^(D)blind or disabled or mutilated or having a discharge or ^(E)an itch or scabs you shall not offer to the Lord or give them to the Lord as a food ^(F)offering on the altar. ²³ You may present a bull or a lamb that has a part ^(G)too long or too short for a freewill offering, but for a vow offering it cannot be accepted. ²⁴ Any animal that has its testicles bruised or crushed or torn or cut you shall not offer to the Lord; you shall not do it within your land, ²⁵ neither shall you offer as ^(H)the bread of your God any such animals gotten from a foreigner. Since there is a ^(I)blemish in them, because of their mutilation, they will not be accepted for you.”

¹⁹ but ^(A)with the precious blood of Christ, like that of ^(B)a lamb ^(C)without blemish or spot.

¹⁴ how much more will ^(A)the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit ^(B)offered himself without blemish to God, ^(C)purify our^[a] conscience ^(D)from dead works ^(E)to serve the living God.

¹³ But you say, ^(A)‘What a weariness this is,’ and you snort at it, says the Lord of hosts. ^(B)You bring what has been taken by violence or is lame or sick, and this you bring as your offering! Shall I accept that from your hand? says the Lord. ¹⁴ Cursed be the cheat who has ^(C)a male in his flock, and ^(D)vows it, and yet sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished. For ^(E)I am a great King, says the Lord of hosts, and my name ^(F)will be feared among the nations.
