⁶ except in the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name. There you must sacrifice the Passover in the evening, when the sun goes down, on the anniversary^[a](A) of your departure from Egypt.

⁵ But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name^(A) there for his dwelling.^(B) To that place you must go;

¹⁹ but with the precious blood^(A) of Christ, a lamb^(B) without blemish or defect.^{(C) 20} He was chosen before the creation of the world,^(D) but was revealed in these last times^(E) for your sake.

²⁶ Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world.^(A) But he has appeared^(B) once for all^(C) at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.^(D)

² but in these last days^(A) he has spoken to us by his Son,^(B) whom he appointed heir^(C) of all things, and through whom^(D) also he made the universe.^{(E) 3} The Son is the radiance of God’s glory^(F) and the exact representation of his being,^(G) sustaining all things^(H) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,^(I) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.^(J)

²⁰ When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.

¹¹ but they are to do it on the fourteenth day of the second month^(A) at twilight. They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.^(B)

³ Celebrate it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month,^(A) in accordance with all its rules and regulations.^(B)”

⁶ Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month,^(A) when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.^{(B) 7} Then they are to take some of the blood^(C) and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. ⁸ That same night^(D) they are to eat the meat roasted^(E) over the fire, along with bitter herbs,^(F) and bread made without yeast.^{(G) 9} Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs.^(H)
