⁹ Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say, ‘The seventh year, the year of release is near,’ and your ^(A)eye look grudgingly^[a] on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he ^(B)cry to the Lord against you, and ^(C)you be guilty of sin.

^15 (A)You shall give him his wages on the same day, before the sun sets (for he is poor and counts on it), ^(B)lest he cry against you to the Lord, and you be guilty of sin.

^15 (A)Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or ^(B)do you begrudge my generosity?’^[a]

⁹ Do not grumble against one another, brothers, ^(A)so that you may not be judged; behold, ^(B)the Judge is standing ^(C)at the door.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, ^(A)murder, adultery, ²² coveting, wickedness, deceit, ^(B)sensuality, ^(C)envy, ^(D)slander, ^(E)pride, ^(F)foolishness.

²³ If you do mistreat them, and they ^(A)cry out to me, I will surely ^(B)hear their cry,

⁴ Behold, ^(A)the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and ^(B)the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of ^(C)the Lord of hosts.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come ^(A)evil thoughts, ^(B)murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, ^(C)slander.
