⁸ And the pig, because it parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and ^(A)their carcasses you shall not touch.

²⁶ Every animal that parts the hoof but is not cloven-footed or does not chew the cud is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean. ²⁷ And all that walk on their paws, among the animals that go on all fours, are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening,

²² What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The ^(A)dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

¹⁵ So he went and hired himself out to^[a] one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. ¹⁶ And he ^(A)was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.

^17 (A)“Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, ^(B)eating pig's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, declares the Lord.
