²⁷ You shall not ^[a]forsake the ^(A)Levite who is within your gates, for he has no part nor inheritance with you.

²⁹ And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

²⁰ Then the Lord said to Aaron: “You shall have ^(A)no inheritance in their land, nor shall you have any portion among them; ^(B)I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.

¹² And ^(A)you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your sons and your daughters, your male and female servants, and the ^(B)Levite who is within your gates, since he has no portion nor inheritance with you.

Honor the Elders

¹⁷ Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.

Be Generous and Do Good

^6 (A)Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.

The Portion of the Priests and Levites

18 “The priests, the Levites—all the tribe of Levi—shall have ^[a]no part nor ^(A)inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and His portion. ² Therefore they shall have no inheritance among their brethren; the Lord is their inheritance, as He said to them.

¹⁸ But you must eat them before the Lord your God in the place which the Lord your God chooses, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God in ^[a]all to which you put your hands. ^19 [b]Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land.
