Love and Obey the Lord

11 Love^(A) the Lord your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always.^(B)

⁵ Love^(A) the Lord your God with all your heart^(B) and with all your soul and with all your strength.^(C)

Fear the Lord

¹² And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you^(A) but to fear^(B) the Lord your God, to walk^(C) in obedience to him, to love him,^(D) to serve the Lord^(E) your God with all your heart^(F) and with all your soul,^(G)

⁷ “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements,^(A) then you will govern my house^(B) and have charge^(C) of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.^(D)

¹⁶ For I command you today to love^(A) the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live^(B) and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

¹⁷ But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, ¹⁸ I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed.^(C) You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.

¹⁹ This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you^(D) that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.^(E) Now choose life, so that you and your children may live ²⁰ and that you may love^(F) the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life,^(G) and he will give^(H) you many years in the land^(I) he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

³⁵ You must stay at the entrance to the tent of meeting day and night for seven days and do what the Lord requires,^(A) so you will not die; for that is what I have been commanded.”
