² And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and ^(A)you shall put them in the ark.’

⁹ There was nothing in the ark except ^(A)the two tablets of stone that Moses put there at Horeb, where ^(B)the Lord made a covenant with the people of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

⁴ having the golden ^(A)altar of incense and ^(B)the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was ^(C)a golden urn holding the manna, and ^(D)Aaron's staff that budded, and ^(E)the tablets of the covenant.

⁵ Then I turned and ^(A)came down from the mountain and ^(B)put the tablets in the ark that I had made. ^(C)And there they are, as the Lord commanded me.”

^13 (A)And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, ^(B)the Ten Commandments,^{[a] (C)}and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.

²⁰ He ^(A)took the testimony and put it into the ark, and put the poles on the ark and set the mercy seat above on the ark.

^16 (A)And you shall put into the ark the ^(B)testimony that I shall give you.

^17 (C)“You shall make a mercy seat^[a] of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. ¹⁸ And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of ^(D)hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. ¹⁹ Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. ^(E)Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. ^20 (F)The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. ²¹ And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. ^22 (G)There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from ^(H)between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.
