¹⁶ Circumcise^(A) your hearts,^(B) therefore, and do not be stiff-necked^(C) any longer.

⁶ The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants,^(A) so that you may love^(B) him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live.

²⁵ I will sprinkle^(A) clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse^(B) you from all your impurities^(C) and from all your idols.^{(D) 26} I will give you a new heart^(E) and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone^(F) and give you a heart of flesh.^{(G) 27} And I will put my Spirit^(H) in you and move you to follow my decrees^(I) and be careful to keep my laws.^{(J) 28} Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people,^(K) and I will be your God.^(L)

The Day of the Lord

¹¹ “I baptize you with^[a] water for repentance.^(A) But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with^[b] the Holy Spirit^(B) and fire.^(C)

¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,^(A) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,^{(B) 20} and teaching^(C) them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you^(D) always, to the very end of the age.”^(E)

² Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.^{(A) 3} They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

³³ Exalted^(A) to the right hand of God,^(B) he has received from the Father^(C) the promised Holy Spirit^(D) and has poured out^(E) what you now see and hear.

¹¹ And that is what some of you were.^(A) But you were washed,^(B) you were sanctified,^(C) you were justified^(D) in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
