Moses’ Error at Kadesh^(A)

20 Then^(B) the children of Israel, the whole congregation, came into the Wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people stayed in ^(C)Kadesh; and ^(D)Miriam died there and was buried there.

Death of Aaron

²² Now the children of Israel, the whole congregation, journeyed from ^(A)Kadesh ^(B)and came to Mount Hor.

¹⁶ for when Israel came up from Egypt, they walked through the wilderness as far as the Red Sea and ^(A)came to Kadesh. ¹⁷ Then ^(B)Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, “Please let me pass through your land.” ^(C)But the king of Edom would not heed. And in like manner they sent to the ^(D)king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel ^(E)remained in Kadesh.

^34 (A)According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, ^(B)forty days, for each day you shall bear your ^[a]guilt one year, namely forty years, ^(C)and you shall know My ^[b]rejection.

²⁵ Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valley; tomorrow turn and ^(A)move out into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.”
