⁷ For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, ^(A)a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills;

⁶ On that day I raised My hand in an oath to them, ^(A)to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, ^(B)‘flowing with milk and honey,’ ^(C)the glory of all lands.

⁹ and ^(A)that you may prolong your days in the land ^(B)which the Lord ^[a]swore to give your fathers, to them and their descendants, ^(C)‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’ ¹⁰ For the land which you go to possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden; ^11 (D)but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, ¹² a land for which the Lord your God cares; ^(E)the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.

Caution Against Disobedience

¹⁰ “So it shall be, when the Lord your God brings you into the land of which He ^[a]swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities ^(A)which you did not build, ¹¹ houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant—^(B)when you have eaten and are full—

⁸ So ^(A)I have come down to ^(B)deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land ^(C)to a good and large land, to a land ^(D)flowing with milk and honey, to the place of ^(E)the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.
