³⁹ And as for ^(A)your little ones, who you said would become a prey, and your children, who today ^(B)have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in there. And to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.

¹⁵ He shall eat ^(A)curds and honey when he knows how to refuse the evil and choose the good. ^16 (B)For before the boy knows how to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land whose two kings you dread will be ^(C)deserted.

³ Why is the Lord bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? ^(A)Our wives and our little ones will become a prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?”

¹¹ though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of ^(A)him who calls—

¹¹ And should not I pity ^(A)Nineveh, that great city, in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know their right hand from their left, and also much ^(B)cattle?”
