¹⁹ O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. ^(A)Delay not, ^(B)for your own sake, O my God, because ^(C)your city and ^(D)your people are called by your name.”

⁸ I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything ^(A)because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence^[a] he will rise and give him whatever he needs.

^18 (A)O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see ^(B)our desolations, and ^(C)the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy.

¹⁰ so that through the church the manifold ^(A)wisdom of God ^(B)might now be made known to ^(C)the rulers and authorities ^(D)in the heavenly places.

¹² so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be ^(A)to the praise of his glory.

² When they had finished eating the grass of the land, I said,

¹⁹ Please ^(A)pardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just ^(B)as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”
