Interpretation of the Vision

¹⁵ When ^(A)I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought ^[a]to understand it; and behold, standing before me was one ^[b]who looked like a ^(B)man. ¹⁶ And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of Ulai, and he called out and said, “^(C)Gabriel, explain the vision to this man.” ¹⁷ So he came near to where I was standing, and when he came I was frightened and ^(D)fell on my face; and he said to me, “Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the ^(E)time of the end.”

²¹ while I was still speaking in prayer, the man ^(A)Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision ^[a]previously, ^[b]came to me ^[c]in my extreme weariness about the time of the ^(B)evening offering. ²² And he instructed me and talked with me and said, “Daniel, I have come now to give you insight with ^(C)understanding.

¹⁸ Zechariah said to the angel, “How will I know this? For ^(A)I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in her ^[a]years.” ¹⁹ The angel answered and said to him, “I am ^(B)Gabriel, who ^[b](C)stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.
