The Vision Interpreted

¹⁵ “As for me, Daniel, my spirit was distressed within ^[a]me, and the ^(A)visions ^[b]in my mind kept ^(B)alarming me.

²⁸ “^[a]At this point the revelation ended. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts were ^(A)greatly alarming me and my ^[b]face became pale, but I ^(B)kept the matter ^[c]to myself.”

¹⁷ So he came near to where I was standing, and when he came I was frightened and ^(A)fell on my face; and he said to me, “Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the ^(B)time of the end.”

²⁷ Then I, Daniel, was ^[a](A)exhausted and sick for days. Then I got up and ^(B)carried on the king’s business; but I was astounded at the vision, and there was no one to explain it.

⁸ So I was ^(A)left alone and saw this great vision; yet ^(B)no strength was left in me, for my complexion turned to ^[a]a deathly pallor, and I retained no strength. ⁹ But I heard the sound of his words; and as soon as I heard the sound of his words, I ^(C)fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground.
