13 “I was watching in the night visions,
And behold, (A)One like the Son of Man,
Coming with the clouds of heaven!
He came to the Ancient of Days,
And they brought Him near before Him.
14 (B)Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,
That all (C)peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.
His dominion is (D)an everlasting dominion,
Which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom the one
Which shall not be destroyed.

Daniel’s Visions Interpreted

15 “I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit [a]within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. 16 I came near to one of those who stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me and made known to me the interpretation of these things: 17 ‘Those great beasts, which are four, are four [b]kings which arise out of the earth. 18 But (E)the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.’

19 “Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet; 20 and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke [c]pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his fellows.

21 “I was watching; (F)and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, (G)and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.

23 “Thus he said:

‘The fourth beast shall be
(H)A fourth kingdom on earth,
Which shall be different from all other kingdoms,
And shall devour the whole earth,
Trample it and break it in pieces.
24 (I)The ten horns are ten kings
Who shall arise from this kingdom.
And another shall rise after them;
He shall be different from the first ones,
And shall subdue three kings.
25 (J)He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall (K)persecute[d] the saints of the Most High,
And shall (L)intend to change times and law.
Then (M)the saints shall be given into his hand
(N)For a time and times and half a time.

26 ‘But(O) the court shall be seated,
And they shall (P)take away his dominion,
To consume and destroy it forever.
27 Then the (Q)kingdom and dominion,
And the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven,
Shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High.
(R)His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
(S)And all dominions shall serve and obey Him.’

28 “This is the end of the [e]account. As for me, Daniel, (T)my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance changed; but I (U)kept the matter in my heart.”

A Faithful Remnant(A)

“Therefore (B)wait for Me,” says the Lord,
“Until the day I rise up [a]for plunder;
My determination is to (C)gather the nations
To My assembly of kingdoms,
To pour on them My indignation,
All My fierce anger;
All the earth (D)shall be devoured
With the fire of My jealousy.

“For then I will restore to the peoples (E)a pure [b]language,
That they all may call on the name of the Lord,
To serve Him with one accord.
10 (F)From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia
My worshipers,
The daughter of My dispersed ones,
Shall bring My offering.
11 In that day you shall not be shamed for any of your deeds
In which you transgress against Me;
For then I will take away from your midst
Those who (G)rejoice in your pride,
And you shall no longer be haughty
In My holy mountain.
12 I will leave in your midst
(H)A meek and humble people,
And they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
13 (I)The remnant of Israel (J)shall do no unrighteousness
(K)And speak no lies,
Nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth;
For (L)they shall feed their flocks and lie down,
And no one shall make them afraid.”

Joy in God’s Faithfulness

14 (M)Sing, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has taken away your judgments,
He has cast out your enemy.
(N)The King of Israel, the Lord, (O)is in your midst;
You shall [c]see disaster no more.

16 In that day (P)it shall be said to Jerusalem:
“Do not fear;
Zion, (Q)let not your hands be weak.
17 The Lord your God (R)in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
(S)He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”

18 “I will gather those who (T)sorrow over the appointed assembly,
Who are among you,
To whom its reproach is a burden.
19 Behold, at that time
I will deal with all who afflict you;
I will save the (U)lame,
And gather those who were driven out;
I will appoint them for praise and fame
In every land where they were put to shame.
20 At that time (V)I will bring you back,
Even at the time I gather you;
For I will give you [d]fame and praise
Among all the peoples of the earth,
When I return your captives before your eyes,”
Says the Lord.
