¹³ I continued watching in the night visions,

²⁷ The kingdom, dominion, and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heaven will be given to the people, the holy ones of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom,^(A) and all rulers will serve and obey him.’

The Coming of the Son of Man

²⁵ “Then there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; ^(A) and there will be anguish on the earth among nations bewildered by the roaring of the sea and the waves.^{(B) 26} People will faint from fear and expectation of the things that are coming on the world, because the powers of the heavens will be shaken.^{(C) 27} Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud^(D) with power and great glory.^{(E) 28} But when these things begin to take place, stand up and lift your heads, because your redemption is near.”^(F)

The Parable of the Fig Tree

²⁹ Then he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. ³⁰ As soon as they put out leaves you can see for yourselves and recognize that summer is already near. ³¹ In the same way, when you see these things happening, recognize^[a] that the kingdom of God is near.

The Need for Watchfulness

³⁴ “Be on your guard,^(A) so that your minds are not dulled^[a] from carousing,^[b] drunkenness,^(B) and worries of life,^(C) or that day will come on you unexpectedly^{(D) 35} like a trap. For it will come on all who live on the face of the whole earth. ³⁶ But be alert at all times,^(E) praying that you may have strength^[c] to escape^(F) all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Victorious Resurrection

⁵⁰ What I am saying, brothers and sisters, is this: Flesh^(A) and blood^(B) cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor can corruption inherit incorruption. ⁵¹ Listen, I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, ⁵² in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.^(C) For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. ⁵³ For this corruptible body must be clothed^(D) with incorruptibility,^(E) and this mortal body must be clothed with immortality. ⁵⁴ When this corruptible body is clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal body is clothed with immortality, then the saying that is written will take place:

⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin^(I) is the law.^{(J) 57} But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory^(K) through our Lord Jesus Christ!

⁸ Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead^(A) and descended from David, according to my gospel, ⁹ for which I suffer to the point of being bound like a criminal. But the word of God is not bound. ¹⁰ This is why I endure^(B) all things for the elect:^(C) so that they also may obtain salvation, which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.^{(D) 11} This saying is trustworthy:^(E)

The Lamb Is Worthy

⁸ When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp^(A) and golden bowls^(B) filled with incense,^(C) which are the prayers of the saints. ⁹ And they sang a new song:^(D)

¹¹ Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands.^{(G) 12} They said with a loud voice,

¹³ I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth,^(H) on the sea, and everything in them say,^(I)
