Daniel 6:6-8

6 Then these commissioners and satraps came [a]by agreement to the king and spoke to him as follows: “King Darius, (A)live forever! 7 All the (B)commissioners of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the counselors and the governors, have (C)consulted together that the king should establish a statute and enforce an injunction that anyone who offers a prayer to any god or person besides you, O king, for thirty days, shall (D)be thrown into the lions’ [b]den. 8 Now, O king, (E)establish the injunction and sign the document so that it will not be changed, according to the (F)law of the Medes and Persians, which [c]may not be revoked.”

6 Then these (A)high officials and (B)satraps came by agreement[a] to the king and said to him, “O (C)King Darius, live forever! 7 All the (D)high officials of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the (E)counselors and the governors are agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce an (F)injunction, that whoever makes petition to any god or man for thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish (G)the injunction and sign the document, so that it cannot be changed, according to (H)the law of (I)the Medes and the Persians, (J)which cannot be revoked.”

6 So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: (A)“King Darius, live forever! 7 All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have (B)consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the (C)law of the Medes and Persians, which [a]does not alter.”
