⁴⁷ The king responded to Daniel and said, “^(A)Your God truly is a ^(B)God of gods and a Lord of kings and a ^(C)revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.”

²⁸ Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, “Blessed be the ^(A)God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who has ^(B)sent His angel and rescued His servants who put their ^(C)trust in Him, ^[a]violating the king’s command, and surrendered their bodies ^(D)rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. ²⁹ Therefore I ^(E)make a decree that any people, nation, or population of any language that speaks anything offensive against the God of ^(F)Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego shall be torn limb from limb and their ^(G)houses made a rubbish heap, because there is ^(H)no other god who is able to save in this way.”

²⁵ Then Darius the king wrote to all the ^(A)peoples, nations, and populations of all ^[a]languages who were living in all the land: “^(B)May your ^[b]peace be great! ^26 [c]I ^(C)issue a decree that in all the realm of my kingdom people are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel;
