12 »En aquel tiempo se levantará Miguel, el gran príncipe(A) que vela sobre[a] los hijos de tu pueblo. Será un tiempo de angustia(B) cual nunca hubo desde que existen las naciones hasta entonces. Y en ese tiempo tu pueblo será librado(C), todos los que se encuentren inscritos en el libro(D). 2 Y muchos de los que duermen en el polvo de la tierra despertarán(E), unos para la vida eterna, y otros para la ignominia, para el desprecio eterno(F). 3 Los entendidos[b] brillarán(G) como el resplandor del firmamento, y los que guiaron a muchos(H) a la justicia, como las estrellas, por toda la eternidad. 4 Pero tú, Daniel, guarda en secreto estas palabras y sella el libro hasta el tiempo del fin(I). Muchos correrán de aquí para allá, y el conocimiento aumentará(J)».
5 Entonces yo, Daniel, miré, y vi que otros dos estaban de pie, uno a este lado del río, y el otro al otro lado del río. 6 Y uno de ellos dijo al hombre vestido de lino(K) que estaba sobre las aguas del río(L): «¿Para[c] cuándo será el fin de estas maravillas(M)?».
7 Y oí al hombre vestido de lino, que estaba sobre las aguas del río, que levantando su mano derecha y su mano izquierda al cielo, juró por Aquel que vive para siempre(N), que será por tres años y medio[d](O). Y cuando se termine la destrucción del poder[e] del pueblo santo, se cumplirán todas estas cosas(P). 8 Yo oí, pero no pude entender. Entonces dije: «Señor mío, ¿cuál será el resultado[f] de estas cosas?».
9 Y él respondió: «Anda, Daniel, porque estas palabras están cerradas y selladas hasta el tiempo del fin(Q). 10 Muchos serán purificados, emblanquecidos y refinados(R). Los impíos procederán impíamente(S), y ninguno de los impíos comprenderá, pero los entendidos[g] comprenderán(T). 11 Y desde el tiempo en que el sacrificio perpetuo sea quitado y puesta la abominación de la desolación[h](U), habrá 1,290 días. 12 Bienaventurado el que espere(V) y llegue a 1,335 días(W). 13 Pero tú, sigue hasta el fin[i]. Descansarás(X) y te levantarás para recibir tu heredad[j](Y) al fin de los días».

12 En aquel tiempo se levantará Miguel,(A) el gran príncipe que está de parte de los hijos de tu pueblo; y será tiempo de angustia, cual nunca fue desde que hubo gente hasta entonces;(B) pero en aquel tiempo será libertado tu pueblo, todos los que se hallen escritos en el libro. 2 Y muchos de los que duermen en el polvo de la tierra serán despertados, unos para vida eterna, y otros para vergüenza y confusión perpetua.(C) 3 Los entendidos resplandecerán como el resplandor del firmamento; y los que enseñan la justicia a la multitud, como las estrellas a perpetua eternidad. 4 Pero tú, Daniel, cierra las palabras y sella el libro(D) hasta el tiempo del fin. Muchos correrán de aquí para allá, y la ciencia se aumentará.
5 Y yo Daniel miré, y he aquí otros dos que estaban en pie, el uno a este lado del río, y el otro al otro lado del río. 6 Y dijo uno al varón vestido de lino, que estaba sobre las aguas del río: ¿Cuándo será el fin de estas maravillas? 7 Y oí al varón vestido de lino, que estaba sobre las aguas del río, el cual alzó su diestra y su siniestra al cielo, y juró por el que vive por los siglos,(E) que será por tiempo, tiempos, y la mitad de un tiempo.(F) Y cuando se acabe la dispersión del poder del pueblo santo, todas estas cosas serán cumplidas. 8 Y yo oí, mas no entendí. Y dije: Señor mío, ¿cuál será el fin de estas cosas? 9 Él respondió: Anda, Daniel, pues estas palabras están cerradas y selladas hasta el tiempo del fin. 10 Muchos serán limpios, y emblanquecidos y purificados; los impíos procederán impíamente,(G) y ninguno de los impíos entenderá, pero los entendidos comprenderán. 11 Y desde el tiempo que sea quitado el continuo sacrificio hasta la abominación desoladora,(H) habrá mil doscientos noventa días. 12 Bienaventurado el que espere, y llegue a mil trescientos treinta y cinco días. 13 Y tú irás hasta el fin, y reposarás, y te levantarás para recibir tu heredad al fin de los días.

12 »”En ese momento aparecerá Miguel, el gran ángel protector que defiende a tu pueblo.
»”Será un momento angustioso,
un momento como no ha habido otro
desde que existen las naciones.
Cuando ese momento llegue,
se salvarán todos los de tu pueblo
que tienen su nombre escrito en el libro.
2 Muchos de los que duermen en la tumba, despertarán:
unos para vivir eternamente,
y otros para la vergüenza y el horror eternos.
3 Los hombres sabios,
los que guiaron a muchos por el camino recto,
brillarán como la bóveda celeste;
¡brillarán por siempre, como las estrellas!
4 »”Pero tú, Daniel, guarda estas cosas en secreto y sella el libro hasta el tiempo del fin. Mucha gente andará de acá para allá, buscando aumentar sus conocimientos.”
5 »Yo, Daniel, vi que otros dos hombres estaban de pie, uno a cada lado del río. 6 Y uno de ellos le preguntó al hombre vestido con ropas de lino, que estaba sobre las aguas del río: “¿Cuándo van a terminar estas cosas tan extraordinarias?” 7 El hombre vestido de lino levantó sus manos al cielo y, jurando en el nombre del Dios viviente, dijo: “Dentro de tres tiempos y medio, cuando deje de ser destrozado el poder del pueblo de Dios, entonces terminarán todas estas cosas.”
8 »Yo escuché lo que decía, pero no entendí nada. Entonces le pregunté: “Señor, ¿qué va a pasar después de todo esto?” 9 Y él me contestó: “Sigue tu camino, Daniel, pues estas cosas deben ser mantenidas en secreto hasta que llegue el momento final. 10 Muchos pasarán por los sufrimientos anunciados, y saldrán de ellos purificados y perfeccionados. Los malvados seguirán cometiendo maldades, sin entender lo que pasa, pero los hombres sabios lo comprenderán todo. 11 Mil doscientos noventa días pasarán desde el momento en que se suspenda el sacrificio diario y se ponga el horrible sacrilegio en el templo del Señor. 12 Feliz aquel que espere confiado hasta que hayan pasado mil trescientos treinta y cinco días. 13 Pero tú, Daniel, camina hacia tu fin y reposa, que en los últimos días te levantarás para recibir tu recompensa.”»

12 “At that time Michael,
the great prince who watches over your people,[a]
will arise.[b]
There will be a time of distress
unlike any other from the nation’s beginning[c]
up to that time.
But at that time your own people,
all those whose names are[d] found written in the book,
will escape.
2 Many of those who sleep
in the dusty ground will awake—
some to everlasting life,
and others to shame and everlasting abhorrence.[e]
3 But the wise will shine
like the brightness of the heavenly expanse.
And those bringing many to righteousness
will be like the stars forever and ever.
4 “But you, Daniel, close up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will dash about,[f] and knowledge will increase.”
5 I, Daniel, watched as two others stood there, one on each side of the river.[g] 6 One said to the man clothed in linen who was above the waters of the river, “When will the end of these wondrous events occur?” 7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen who was over the waters of the river as he raised both his right and left hands to the sky[h] and made an oath by the one who lives forever: “It is for a time, times, and half a time. Then, when the power of the one who shatters[i] the holy people has been exhausted, all these things will be finished.”
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I said, “Sir,[j] what will happen after these things?” 9 He said, “Go, Daniel. For these matters are closed and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made clean, and refined, but the wicked will go on being wicked. None of the wicked will understand, though the wise will understand. 11 From the time that the daily sacrifice is removed and the abomination that causes desolation is set in place,[k] there are 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits and attains to the 1,335 days. 13 But you should go your way[l] until the end.[m] You will rest and then at the end of the days you will arise to receive[n] what you have been allotted.”[o]
