12 “Nessa época, Miguel, o grande príncipe que guarda seu povo, se levantará. Haverá um tempo de angústia como nunca houve desde que as nações vieram a existir. Nesse tempo, porém, todos de seu povo que tiverem o nome escrito no livro serão salvos. 2 Muitos dos que estão mortos e enterrados[a] ressuscitarão, alguns para a vida eterna e outros para a vergonha e a desonra eterna. 3 Os sábios brilharão intensamente como o esplendor do céu, e os que conduzem muitos à justiça resplandecerão como estrelas, para sempre. 4 Mas você, Daniel, mantenha esta profecia em segredo; sele o livro até o tempo do fim, quando muitos correrão de um lado para o outro e o conhecimento aumentará”.
5 Então eu, Daniel, olhei e vi dois outros em pé em margens opostas do rio. 6 Um deles perguntou ao homem vestido de linho, que agora estava sobre o rio: “Quanto tempo passará até que terminem esses acontecimentos espantosos?”.
7 O homem vestido de linho, que estava sobre o rio, levantou as duas mãos em direção ao céu, pronunciou um juramento solene àquele que vive para sempre e disse: “Passará um tempo, tempos e meio tempo. Quando o povo santo finalmente for quebrado, todas essas coisas se cumprirão”.
8 Ouvi o que ele disse, mas não entendi o significado. Por isso, perguntei: “Meu senhor, como estas coisas terminarão?”.
9 Ele respondeu: “Agora vá, Daniel, pois aquilo que eu disse será mantido em segredo e selado até o tempo do fim. 10 Muitos serão purificados, limpos e refinados por essas provações. Os perversos, porém, continuarão em sua perversidade, e nenhum deles entenderá. Somente os sábios compreenderão seu significado.
11 “A partir do momento em que o sacrifício diário for suspenso e a terrível profanação[b] for colocada ali, haverá 1.290 dias. 12 Feliz aquele que esperar e permanecer até o fim dos 1.335 dias!
13 “Quanto a você, siga seu caminho até o fim. Você descansará e, no final dos dias, se levantará para receber sua herança”.

12 »En aquel tiempo se levantará Miguel, el gran príncipe que está del lado de los hijos de tu pueblo. Será tiempo de angustia, como nunca fue desde que existen las naciones hasta entonces. Pero en aquel tiempo tu pueblo será librado, todos aquellos que se encuentren inscritos en el libro. 2 Y muchos de los que duermen en el polvo de la tierra serán despertados, unos para vida eterna y otros para vergüenza y eterno horror. 3 Los entendidos resplandecerán con el resplandor del firmamento; y los que enseñan justicia a la multitud, como las estrellas, por toda la eternidad. 4 Pero tú, oh Daniel, cierra las palabras y sella el libro hasta el tiempo del fin. Muchos correrán de un lado para otro, y se incrementará el conocimiento.
Revelación del hombre vestido de lino
5 Yo, Daniel, miré, y he aquí que dos estaban de pie, uno de este lado en la orilla del río, y el otro al otro lado en la orilla del río. 6 Entonces dije[a] al hombre vestido de lino que estaba sobre las aguas del río:
—¿Cuándo será el final de estas cosas sorprendentes?
7 Escuché al hombre vestido de lino que estaba sobre las aguas del río, quien alzó su mano derecha y su mano izquierda al cielo, y juró por el que vive por los siglos, que será por un tiempo, tiempos y medio tiempo. Todas estas cosas se cumplirán cuando se acabe el quebrantamiento de la fuerza del pueblo santo. 8 Yo escuché, pero no entendí. Y dije:
—Señor mío, ¿cuál será el final de estas cosas?
9 Y él dijo:
—Anda, Daniel; estas cosas están cerradas y selladas hasta el tiempo del fin. 10 Muchos serán limpiados, emblanquecidos y purificados; pero los impíos obrarán impíamente y ninguno de ellos entenderá. Pero los sabios, sí entenderán. 11 Desde el tiempo en que sea quitado el sacrificio continuo hasta la abominación desoladora habrá mil doscientos noventa días. 12 ¡Bienaventurado el que espere y llegue hasta mil trescientos treinta y cinco días! 13 Pero tú, continúa hasta el fin, y descansarás y te levantarás para recibir tu heredad al fin de los días.

12 “At that time Michael,(A) the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress(B) such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book(C)—will be delivered.(D) 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake:(E) some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.(F) 3 Those who are wise[a](G) will shine(H) like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness,(I) like the stars for ever and ever.(J) 4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal(K) the words of the scroll until the time of the end.(L) Many will go here and there(M) to increase knowledge.”
5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.(N) 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen,(O) who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”(P)
7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand(Q) and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever,(R) saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time.[b](S) When the power of the holy people(T) has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.(U)”
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”
9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed(V) until the time of the end.(W) 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined,(X) but the wicked will continue to be wicked.(Y) None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.(Z)
11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice(AA) is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation(AB) is set up, there will be 1,290 days.(AC) 12 Blessed is the one who waits(AD) for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.(AE)
13 “As for you, go your way till the end.(AF) You will rest,(AG) and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.(AH)”
