12 En ce temps-là se lèvera Micaël, le grand chef, le défenseur des enfants de ton peuple; et ce sera une époque de détresse, telle qu'il n'y en a point eu de semblable depuis que les nations existent jusqu'à cette époque. En ce temps-là, ceux de ton peuple qui seront trouvés inscrits dans le livre seront sauvés.
2 Plusieurs de ceux qui dorment dans la poussière de la terre se réveilleront, les uns pour la vie éternelle, et les autres pour l'opprobre, pour la honte éternelle.
3 Ceux qui auront été intelligents brilleront comme la splendeur du ciel, et ceux qui auront enseigné la justice, à la multitude brilleront comme les étoiles, à toujours et à perpétuité.
4 Toi, Daniel, tiens secrètes ces paroles, et scelle le livre jusqu'au temps de la fin. Plusieurs alors le liront, et la connaissance augmentera.
5 Et moi, Daniel, je regardai, et voici, deux autres hommes se tenaient debout, l'un en deçà du bord du fleuve, et l'autre au delà du bord du fleuve.
6 L'un d'eux dit à l'homme vêtu de lin, qui se tenait au-dessus des eaux du fleuve: Quand sera la fin de ces prodiges?
7 Et j'entendis l'homme vêtu de lin, qui se tenait au-dessus des eaux du fleuve; il leva vers les cieux sa main droite et sa main gauche, et il jura par celui qui vit éternellement que ce sera dans un temps, des temps, et la moitié d'un temps, et que toutes ces choses finiront quand la force du peuple saint sera entièrement brisée.
8 J'entendis, mais je ne compris pas; et je dis: Mon seigneur, quelle sera l'issue de ces choses?
9 Il répondit: Va, Daniel, car ces paroles seront tenues secrètes et scellées jusqu'au temps de la fin.
10 Plusieurs seront purifiés, blanchis et épurés; les méchants feront le mal et aucun des méchants ne comprendra, mais ceux qui auront de l'intelligence comprendront.
11 Depuis le temps où cessera le sacrifice perpétuel, et où sera dressée l'abomination du dévastateur, il y aura mille deux cent quatre-vingt-dix jours.
12 Heureux celui qui attendra, et qui arrivera jusqu'au mille trois cent trente-cinq jours!
13 Et toi, marche vers ta fin; tu te reposeras, et tu seras debout pour ton héritage à la fin des jours.

12 Zu jener Zeit wird sich der große Fürst Michael erheben, der für die Kinder deines Volkes einsteht; denn es wird eine Zeit der Drangsal sein, wie es noch keine gab, seitdem es Völker gibt, bis zu dieser Zeit. Aber zu jener Zeit wird dein Volk gerettet werden, jeder, der sich in dem Buch eingeschrieben findet.
2 Und viele von denen, die im Staub der Erde schlafen, werden aufwachen; die einen zum ewigen Leben, die anderen zur ewigen Schmach und Schande.
3 Und die Verständigen werden leuchten wie der Glanz der Himmelsausdehnung, und die, welche die Vielen zur Gerechtigkeit weisen, wie die Sterne immer und ewiglich.
4 Du aber, Daniel, verschließe diese Worte und versiegle das Buch bis zur Zeit des Endes! Viele werden darin forschen, und die Erkenntnis wird zunehmen.
5 Und ich, Daniel, schaute, und siehe, da standen zwei andere da, der eine an diesem Ufer des Flusses, der andere am jenseitigen Ufer des Flusses.
6 Und einer sprach zu dem in Leinen gekleideten Mann, der oberhalb der Wasser des Flusses stand: Wie lange wird es dauern, bis diese unerhörten Zustände zu Ende sind?
7 Da hörte ich den in Leinen gekleideten Mann, der oberhalb der Wasser des Flusses war, wie er seine Rechte und seine Linke zum Himmel erhob und bei dem schwor, der ewig lebt: Eine Zeit, zwei Zeiten und eine halbe Zeit; und wenn die Zerschmetterung der Kraft des heiligen Volkes vollendet ist, so wird das alles zu Ende gehen!
8 Das hörte ich, verstand es aber nicht. Darum fragte ich: Mein Herr, was wird das Ende von diesen Dingen sein?
9 Er sprach: Geh hin, Daniel! Denn diese Worte sollen verschlossen und versiegelt bleiben bis zur Zeit des Endes.
10 Viele sollen gesichtet, gereinigt und geläutert werden; und die Gottlosen werden gottlos bleiben, und kein Gottloser wird es verstehen; aber die Verständigen werden es verstehen.
11 Und von der Zeit an, da das beständige [Opfer] beseitigt und der Gräuel der Verwüstung aufgestellt wird, sind es 1 290 Tage.
12 Wohl dem, der ausharrt und 1 335 Tage erreicht!
13 Du aber geh hin, bis das Ende kommt! Du darfst nun ruhen und wirst einst auferstehen zu deinem Erbteil am Ende der Tage!

12 “At that time Michael,(A) the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress(B) such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book(C)—will be delivered.(D) 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake:(E) some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.(F) 3 Those who are wise[a](G) will shine(H) like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness,(I) like the stars for ever and ever.(J) 4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal(K) the words of the scroll until the time of the end.(L) Many will go here and there(M) to increase knowledge.”
5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.(N) 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen,(O) who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”(P)
7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand(Q) and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever,(R) saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time.[b](S) When the power of the holy people(T) has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.(U)”
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”
9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed(V) until the time of the end.(W) 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined,(X) but the wicked will continue to be wicked.(Y) None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.(Z)
11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice(AA) is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation(AB) is set up, there will be 1,290 days.(AC) 12 Blessed is the one who waits(AD) for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.(AE)
13 “As for you, go your way till the end.(AF) You will rest,(AG) and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.(AH)”
