And now I will tell you the (A)truth. Behold, three more kings are going to arise [a]in Persia. Then a fourth will gain far more riches than all of them; as soon as he becomes strong through his riches, [b]he will stir up the entire empire against the realm of [c](B)Greece. And a (C)mighty king will arise, and he will rule with great authority and (D)do as he pleases. But as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom will be broken up and parceled out (E)toward the (F)four [d]points of the compass, though not to his own descendants, nor according to his authority which he wielded, because his sovereignty will be (G)removed and given to others besides [e]them.

And now I will reveal the truth to you. Look! Still three kings will arise in Persia, and the fourth will get abundance and great wealth, even more than all of them, and when he becomes strong[a] through his wealth, then he will stir up everyone[b] against the kingdom of Javan.[c] And a mighty king will arise, and he will rule with great dominion, and he will do as he pleases.[d] But as he rises in power,[e] his kingdom will be divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, and not according to his dominion by which he ruled, for his kingdom will be uprooted and be given to others besides them.[f]
