Daniel 1:17-19

¹⁷God gave these four men wisdom and the ability to learn. They learned many kinds of things people had written and studied. Daniel could also understand all kinds of visions and dreams.

¹⁸The end of the three years came. And Ashpenaz brought all of the young men to King Nebuchadnezzar. ¹⁹The king talked to them. He found that none of the young men were as good as Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. So those four young men became the king’s servants.

¹⁷To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding^(A) of all kinds of literature and learning.^(B) And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.^(C)

¹⁸At the end of the time^(D) set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. ¹⁹The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service.^(E)

¹⁷As for these four youths, ^(A)God gave them learning and ^(B)skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had ^(C)understanding in all visions and dreams. ¹⁸At the end of ^(D)the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. ¹⁹And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore ^(E)they stood before the king.
