And I saw him confronting the ram; he was moved with rage against him, [a]attacked the ram, and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him; and there was no one that could deliver the ram from his hand.

Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it (A)four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven. (B)And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, (C)toward the east, and toward the (D)Glorious Land. 10 (E)And it grew up to (F)the host of heaven; and (G)it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. 11 (H)He even exalted himself as high as (I)the Prince of the host; (J)and by him (K)the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of [b]His sanctuary was cast down. 12 Because of transgression, (L)an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast (M)truth down to the ground. The ram was powerless to stand against it; the goat knocked it to the ground and trampled on it,(A) and none could rescue the ram from its power.(B) The goat became very great, but at the height of its power the large horn was broken off,(C) and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.(D)

Out of one of them came another horn, which started small(E) but grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land.(F) 10 It grew until it reached(G) the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth(H) and trampled(I) on them. 11 It set itself up to be as great as the commander(J) of the army of the Lord;(K) it took away the daily sacrifice(L) from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down.(M) 12 Because of rebellion, the Lord’s people[a] and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground.(N)
