²² My God ^(A)sent His angel and ^(B)shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as ^[a]I was found innocent before Him; and also ^[b]toward you, O king, I have done no harm.”

²⁶ And they were unable to ^[a](A)catch Him in a word in the presence of the people; and marveling at His answer, they became silent.

¹⁴ and said to them, “You brought this man to me as one who ^[a](A)incites the people to rebellion, and behold, having examined Him before you, I ^(B)have found in this man no guilt of what you are accusing Him. ¹⁵ No, nor has ^(C)Herod, for he sent Him back to us; and behold, nothing deserving death has been done by Him.

¹⁵ so that you will be ^(A)blameless and innocent, ^(B)children of God without blemish in the midst of a ^(C)crooked and perverse generation, among whom you ^(D)shine as ^[a]lights in the world,

^12 (A)by keeping your conduct excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing which they ^(B)slander you as evildoers, they may ^[a]because of your good works, as they observe them, ^(C)glorify God ^(D)in the day of ^[b]visitation.

¹⁶ having a ^(A)good conscience so that in the thing in which ^(B)you are slandered, those who disparage your good conduct in Christ will be put to shame.
