17 Then Daniel answered and said before the king, (A)“Let your gifts be for yourself, and give your rewards to another. Nevertheless, I will read the writing to the king and make known to him the interpretation. 18 O king, the (B)Most High God (C)gave (D)Nebuchadnezzar your father (E)kingship and greatness and glory and majesty. 19 And because of the greatness that he gave him, (F)all peoples, nations, and languages (G)trembled and feared before him. Whom he would, he killed, and whom he would, he kept alive; whom he would, he raised up, and whom he would, he humbled.

18 “Your Majesty, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar(B) sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor.(C) 19 Because of the high position he gave him, all the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death;(D) those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled.(E)
