44 And in the days of those kings (A)the God of heaven will set up (B)a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. (C)It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and (D)it shall stand forever, 45 just as (E)you saw that (F)a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that (G)it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A (H)great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”

Daniel Is Promoted

46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar (I)fell upon his face and (J)paid homage to Daniel, and commanded that (K)an offering and (L)incense be offered up to him. 47 The king answered and said to Daniel, “Truly, your (M)God is God of gods and (N)Lord of kings, and (O)a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.” 48 Then the king gave Daniel high honors and many great (P)gifts, and made him ruler over the whole (Q)province of Babylon and (R)chief prefect over all the wise men of Babylon. 49 Daniel made a request of the king, and he (S)appointed (T)Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego over the affairs of (U)the province of Babylon. But Daniel (V)remained at the king's court.

It will crush(A) all those kingdoms(B) and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.(C) 45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock(D) cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands(E)—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces.

“The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future.(F) The dream is true(G) and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate(H) before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering(I) and incense be presented to him. 47 The king said to Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods(J) and the Lord of kings(K) and a revealer of mysteries,(L) for you were able to reveal this mystery.(M)

48 Then the king placed Daniel in a high(N) position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men.(O) 49 Moreover, at Daniel’s request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon,(P) while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.(Q)
