16 And Daniel went in and requested the king to appoint him a time, that he might show the interpretation to the king.

17 Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to (A)Hananiah, (B)Mishael, and (C)Azariah, his companions, 18 (D)and told them to seek mercy from the (E)God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not (F)be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

17 Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.(A) 18 He urged them to plead for mercy(B) from the God of heaven(C) concerning this mystery,(D) so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
