“But you, Daniel, (A)shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall (B)run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

Then I, Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on this riverbank and the other on that (C)riverbank. And one said to the man clothed in (D)linen, who was above the waters of the river, (E)“How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?

Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he (F)held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him (G)who lives forever, (H)that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; (I)and when the power of (J)the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished.

Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?

And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 (K)Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, (L)but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but (M)the wise shall understand.

11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

13 “But you, go your way till the end; (N)for you shall rest, (O)and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”

But you, Daniel, roll up and seal(A) the words of the scroll until the time of the end.(B) Many will go here and there(C) to increase knowledge.”

Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.(D) One of them said to the man clothed in linen,(E) who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”(F)

The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand(G) and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever,(H) saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time.[a](I) When the power of the holy people(J) has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.(K)

I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”

He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed(L) until the time of the end.(M) 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined,(N) but the wicked will continue to be wicked.(O) None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.(P)

11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice(Q) is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation(R) is set up, there will be 1,290 days.(S) 12 Blessed is the one who waits(T) for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.(U)

13 “As for you, go your way till the end.(V) You will rest,(W) and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.(X)
