40 (A)“At the time of the end, the king of the south shall attack[a] him, but the king of the north shall rush upon him (B)like a whirlwind, with chariots and horsemen, and with many ships. And he shall come into countries and (C)shall overflow and pass through. 41 He shall come into (D)the glorious land. And tens of thousands shall fall, but these shall be delivered out of his hand: (E)Edom and (F)Moab and the main part of the (G)Ammonites. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall become ruler of the treasures of gold and of silver, and all the precious things of Egypt, and the (H)Libyans and the (I)Cushites shall follow in his train.

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South(A) will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm(B) out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood.(C) 41 He will also invade the Beautiful Land.(D) Many countries will fall, but Edom,(E) Moab(F) and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand. 42 He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape. 43 He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt,(G) with the Libyans(H) and Cushites[a] in submission.
