4 They should be young men without any defect, handsome, proficient in wisdom, well informed, and insightful, such as could take their place in the king’s palace; he was to teach them the language and literature of the Chaldeans. 5 The king allotted them a daily portion of food and wine from the royal table. After three years’ training they were to enter the king’s service. 6 Among these were Judeans, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.

Daniel 1:4-6
New International Version
4 young men without any physical defect, handsome,(A) showing aptitude for every kind of learning,(B) well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language(C) and literature of the Babylonians.[a] 5 The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine(D) from the king’s table.(E) They were to be trained for three years,(F) and after that they were to enter the king’s service.(G)
6 Among those who were chosen were some from Judah: Daniel,(H) Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.(I)
