² The Lord gave King Jehoiakim of Judah into his power, as well as some of the vessels of the house of God. These he brought to the land of Shinar,^[a] and he placed the vessels in the treasury of his gods.^(A)

³⁹ Nebuchadnezzar also took some holy vessels of the Lord and carried them away and stored them in his temple in Babylon.^(A)

⁵³ and utterly destroyed all its glorious things. Nebuchadnezzar^[a] led the survivors away to Babylon with the sword,

⁴⁴ and to send back all the vessels that were taken from Jerusalem, which Cyrus set apart when he began^[a] to destroy Babylon and vowed to send them back there.^(A)
