7 When the magicians,(A) enchanters, astrologers[a] and diviners(B) came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.(C) 8 Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream. (He is called Belteshazzar,(D) after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods(E) is in him.)
9 I said, “Belteshazzar, chief(F) of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods(G) is in you, and no mystery is too difficult for you. Here is my dream; interpret it for me.

8 Finally Daniel, named Belteshazzar(B) after the name of my god – and a spirit of the holy gods is in him(C) – came before me. I told him the dream: 9 ‘Belteshazzar, head of the magicians, because I know that you have the spirit of the holy gods(D) and that no mystery puzzles you,(E) explain to me the visions of my dream that I saw, and its interpretation.

7 Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,
9 O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
