Daniel’s Prayer for the People

9 In the first year of Darius son of Ahasuerus, by birth a Mede, who became king over the realm of the Chaldeans,^(A)

11 ¹ “As for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to support and strengthen him.^(A)

^31 [a]And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.^(A)

The Plot against Daniel

6 ^[b]It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred twenty satraps, stationed throughout the whole kingdom,^(B)

²¹ And Daniel continued there until the first year of King Cyrus.^(A)

²⁸ So this Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.^(A)
