Daniel’s Prayer for the People

9 In the first year ^(A)of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the lineage of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans—

11 “Also ^(A)in the first year of ^(B)Darius the Mede, I, even I, stood up to confirm and strengthen him.)

^31 (A)And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.

The Plot Against Daniel

6 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom;

^21 (A)Thus Daniel continued until the first year of King Cyrus.

²⁸ So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius ^(A)and in the reign of ^(B)Cyrus the Persian.
