Daniel’s Prayer

9 In the first year of Darius^(A) son of Xerxes^[a](B) (a Mede by descent), who was made ruler over the Babylonian^[b] kingdom—

11 ¹ And in the first year of Darius^(A) the Mede, I took my stand to support and protect him.)

³¹ and Darius^(A) the Mede^(B) took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two.^[a]

Daniel in the Den of Lions

6 ^[b]It pleased Darius^(C) to appoint 120 satraps^(D) to rule throughout the kingdom,

²¹ And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.^(A)

²⁸ So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus^[a](A) the Persian.^(B)
