^25 (A)By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind ^(B)he shall become great. ^(C)Without warning he shall destroy many. And he ^(D)shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken—but ^(E)by no human hand.

^11 (A)It became great, even as great as ^(B)the Prince of the host. ^(C)And the regular burnt offering was taken away from him, and the place of his sanctuary was overthrown.

¹⁹ And I saw ^(A)the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies ^(B)gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. ²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with it ^(C)the false prophet ^(D)who in its presence^[a] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who ^(E)worshiped its image. These two were ^(F)thrown alive into the lake of ^(G)fire that burns with sulfur. ²¹ And the rest were slain by the sword ^(H)that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and ^(I)all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

¹⁴ They ^(A)will make war on the Lamb, and ^(B)the Lamb will conquer them, for he is ^(C)Lord of lords and ^(D)King of kings, and those with him are ^(E)called and chosen and faithful.”

⁴⁵ And he shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the glorious holy mountain. Yet he shall come to his end, with none to help him.

³⁶ “And the king shall ^(A)do as he wills. ^(B)He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, ^(C)and shall speak astonishing things against ^(D)the God of gods. ^(E)He shall prosper ^(F)till the indignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done. ³⁷ He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women. He shall not pay attention to any other god, for ^(G)he shall magnify himself above all.

³² He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action. ^33 (A)And the wise among the people shall make many understand, though for some days they shall stumble by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder.

²¹ In his place shall arise a contemptible person to whom royal majesty has not been given. ^(A)He shall come in without warning and obtain the kingdom ^(B)by flatteries. ²² Armies shall be ^(C)utterly swept away before him and broken, even the prince of the covenant. ²³ And from the time that an alliance is made with him he shall act deceitfully, and he shall become strong with a small people. ^24 (D)Without warning he shall come into ^(E)the richest parts^[a] of the province, and he shall do what neither his fathers nor his fathers' fathers have done, scattering among them plunder, spoil, and goods. He shall devise plans against strongholds, but only for a time. ²⁵ And he shall stir up his power and his heart against ^(F)the king of the south with a great army. And the king of the south shall wage war with an exceedingly great and mighty army, but he shall not stand, for plots shall be devised against him.
